| Surely Im not the only one who wants one of these?! I used to run my S1 200 thru a (non Blackstar) V30 cab but after borrowing a friends Marshall JCM900 cab, I found that personally the Blackstar suited this cab way better (for my tastes at least) To any Blackstar crew reading this: Is there any plans to make a G12T-75 cab at any stage? I would love to fly your flag on both my head and cab |

| I haven't tried a Blackstar amp through G12T-75s, but I finally got a chance to try a Marshall JCM900 SL-X and a Vintage Modern, both through a Marshall 1960 cab with G12T-75s. Definitely sounded awesome with both amps. Of course, they're both awesome amps to begin with. I'm thinking about replacing at least 2 of the Rocket 50s in my Marshall MC412 cabinet with G12T-75s, but I'll probably also try them in the Blackstar HTV-212 that I just ordered to see if I want to order them for that as well. |

| I have a 200, i also dont like V30's at all! Im currently using a krank rev cab with Eminence V12 Legends and it sounds killer. I really want a matching cab but it just doesnt stand up to the krank cab, even if i swapped out the speakers which is what you could do. You'll probably get a good price for 4 new V'30s on Ebay. Sell 'em and pop some G12T's in there! |

| I'm tempted to get a G12T-75 loaded 2x12 for my HT-5 head. Either the Marshall 1922 or 1936.
I play mainly Nirvana with a little GnR and Metallica thrown in. Would G12T-75's suit these bands? |

| Has anybody tried the HTV-412 cab, it's 320 wats so it might be closer to G12T-75:s. It does ofcourse have a lot cheaper Celestion speakers but still it might be worth a try |

They would be fine for most rock/metal tones. They usually come loaded into 4x12 cabs because they have to be pushed to sound their best. If they dont get much volume then they tend to sound a bit flat. With all new speakers(i'm assuming you'll have new ones), they'll need breaking in to get that crisp sound. |

| Thanks for the info Icarus.
Here's a 15 speaker shoot-out I came across on YouTube.

The G12T-75 sounds like it has less midrange than the V30? |

| Yeah, the V30 is a love em or hate em speaker due to its mid spike. They are not one of my favorite speakers, i prefer a more balanced speaker and although i use a lot of mids and not a scooped sound, i prefer to get those mids from my amps tone. |

| Hi. New here.
With regards to Celestions and that "spike", their harshness in that regard always drove me towards Eminence.
A couple of years ago I tried out Warehouse Veteran 30s and they're perfect. Have all the Celestion good without the bad.
Much Cheaper than Celestions as well. |

Hey, welcome to the board!
I've never tried the warehouse veteran's but have heard alot of good things about them. I just bought some EVL 12l's which i'm currently using in an 'X' with the Eminence legends and they sound pretty good. I also have some Eminence texas heat drivers laying around which are cool but they break up a little easy on cleans which i dont want. |

Cool youtube clip!
But the T75's i own have more highs then the V30's, the video make the V30 sound like it has more highs though.
I Like V30's for stage and band playing, T75's for recording and Blackstar amps :D |

Thanks very much.
I happened upon the WH Vet 30s a couple of/few years ago while on a "Trying out new gear" bender. Wanted something that did get a good pushed sound at, relatively, low levels, but stayed clean enough. Tried out a good many and the V30, especially for the price, was the best of the lot and, like said, had the good aspects of Celestions without the icepick in the eardrum thing.
Tried a few Eminence, since I've used them for so long, and there were several I liked (Mostly used Legends prior), but part of it was looking for something new.
Interestingly, possibly not-so-brightly, the one Em I didn't try was the Texas Heat. Heard a lot of good things about them, but also that, like you said, they broke up a little earlier than I like.
Have run all V30s and liked the result, but sort of by accident, happened upon my current setup and couldn't be happier.
In my main cab (2x12) I pair the V30 with an Eminence RBW, which is better voiced for Blues/Blues Rock/Southern Rock. On their own, I wouldn't use the RWBs (Good speaker but not for my sound on its own). Mic both, run at about even levels (Sometimes the v30 a touch louder).
I'm hoping this setup works as well with the HT20 I have on the way as with my Carvins. |
