I just got a stage 60 combo and changed the the speakers to v-30 , the amp sounds very good so far, there is a pretty good hiss on the od channels will changing out the pre-amp tubes help with this ? it has the stock tubes in it..

more than likely yes...the stock tubes are a little noisy - i runn JJ's in my 60 and it is quiter than it was
with the stock valves

I'm sure a tube change will help....the stage 60 should be pretty quiet even at loud volume

Agree with Majik - I've just changed my pre-amp valves to JJs and there's a noticeable improvement in tone, to my ears anyway.

Can't say I've noticed a reduction in noise or hiss, though - my Stage 60 has always been really quiet.
